No. 2424 (this Act shall enter into force as from the date of its publication on the Official Gazette, 4 July 1996).; This Agreement shall enter into force after the date of the written notification, by a Contracting Party, to the other Contra cting Party, that the internal constitutional procedures, necessary to this end, have been completed (the exchange of such notifications has taken place at Athens on April 18, 1997). The Agreement shall remain in force for a period of six (6) years and shall be tacitly renewed thereafter for periods of two (2) year, unless written notice of termination has been given by one Contracting Party at least six months before the date of expire of its current period of validity.; The Government of the Hellenic Republic and the Government of the Republic of Cyprus, desiring to implement the Agreement on economic and technological cooperation between the two aforementioned Parties (signed in Nicosia on the 11th of December 1995) and recognising the exceptional importance of the Greek and Cypriot environment for the Mediterranean region, have agreed to make any effort and cooperate in order to protect the environment. Such cooperation shall be implemented through: exchange of scientific and technical information and documentation, scientific-researc h information, visits of experts and consultants, organisation of training programmes, seminars, conferences and meetings in either of the two countries. In particular, such conferences shall cover -among other- the following topics: environmental policy and legislation, particularly referring to a Cypriot policy attuned to the respective environmental policy and legislation of the EC; marine environmental protection; coastal zone management and protection; With the aim of realizing the cooper ation and ensuring continuous contacts, the Contracting Parties have agreed on the establishment of a joint work group.; FAO Descriptors: 110; 712; 007; 708
