Arrangement between the Russian Federation and Norway
With reference to Agreed Record of Conclusions of Fisheries Consultations on the Management of the Norwegian Spring Spawning (Atlanto-Scandian) herring stock in the North-East Atlantic for 2002 between the European Community, the Faroe Islands, Iceland, Norway and the Russian Federation of 9 November 2001, separate bilateral arrangements on access to the respective zones of fisheries jurisdiction of the Parties have been concluded.
The following arrangement between Norway and the Russian Federation will be applied:
Within the framework of the above five-party arrangement, the Russian Federation is granted access to fish 85,000 tonnes of herring in the Norwegian Economic Zone north of 62° N and 7,200 tonnes of herring in the areas outside territorial waters in the Fisheries Zone around Jan Mayen.
The Russian Federation shall transfer 1,300 tonnes of its herring quota to Norway.
Specific conditions pertaining to the conduct of this fishery are to be agreed upon at a later stage.

Arrangement between the European Community and Norway

With reference to Agreed Record of Conclusions of Fisheries Consultations on the Management of the Norwegian Spring-Spawning (Atlanto-Scandian) herring stock in the North-East Atlantic for 2002 between the European Community, the Faroe Islands, Iceland, Norway and the Russian Federation of 9 November 2001, separate bilateral arrangements on access to the respective zones of fisheries jurisdiction of the Parties have been concluded.
The following arrangement between the European Community and Norway will be applied:
Within the framework of the above five party arrangement the European Community is granted access to fish 22,920 tonnes of herring in the Norwegian Economic Zone north of 62°N or in the Fishery Zone around Jan Mayen, of which a maximum of 17,000 tonnes may be fished in the Norwegian Economic Zone north of 62° N.
Norway is granted access to fish 5,920 tonnes of herring in Community fishing waters north of 62°N.
Specific conditions pertaining to the conduct of this fishery are to be agreed upon at a later stage.

Arrangement between the Faroe Islands and Norway

With reference to Agreed Record of Conclusions of Fisheries Consultations on the Management of the Norwegian Spring Spawning (Atlanto-Scandian) herring stock in the North-East Atlantic for 2002 between the European Community, the Faroe Islands, Iceland, Norway and the Russian Federation of 9 November 2001, separate bilateral arrangements on access to the respective zones of fisheries jurisdiction of the Parties have been concluded.
The following arrangement between the Faroe Islands and Norway will be applied:
Within the framework of the above five party arrangement the Faroe Islands is granted access to fish 20,900 tonnes of herring in the Norwegian Economic Zone north of 62° N or in the Fishery Zone around Jan Mayen, of which a maximum of 17,000 tonnes of herring may be fished in the Norwegian Economic Zone north of 62° N.
Norway is granted access to fish 20,900 tonnes of herring in the Faroese Fisheries Zone.
Norway shall transfer 1,300 tonnes of its herring quota to the Faroe Islands.
Specific conditions pertaining to the conduct of this fishery are to be agreed upon at a later stage.

Arrangement between Iceland and Norway on access to the Icelandic Economic Zone and the Norwegian Economic Zone and the Fishery Zone around Jan Mayen in 2002
In accordance with paragraph 3 of the Annex I to the Agreed Record dated 9 November 2001 of conclusions of fisheries consultations between the European Community, the Faroe Islands, Iceland, Norway and the Russian Federation on the management of the Norwegian Spring-Spawning (Atlanto-Scandian) herring stock in the North-East Atlantic for 2002, separate bilateral arrangements on access to the respective zones of fisheries jurisdiction of the Parties have been concluded.
The following arrangement between Iceland and Norway shall apply:
Icelandic fishing vessels are granted access in 2002 to fish 132,080 tonnes of herring in the Fishery Zone around Jan Mayen or in the Norwegian Economic Zone north of 62° N, of which a maximum of 5,900 tonnes of herring may be fished in the Norwegian Economic Zone north of 62° N.
Norwegian fishing vessels are granted access in 2002 to fish 94,200 tonnes of herring in the Icelandic Economic Zone.
The Parties will agree upon further provisions on the conditions of the fisheries.

Understanding on Special Conservation Measures with Respect to Management of the Norwegian Spring Spawning Herring (Atlanto-Scandian Herring) Stock in 2002
With reference to Article 2.1 of the Protocol on the Conservation, Rational Utilisation and Management of Norwegian Spring-Spawning (Atlanto-Scandian) herring in the Northeast Atlantic, and with reference to the Agreed Record of Conclusions of Fisheries Consultations on the Management of the Norwegian Spring Spawning (Atlanto-Scandian) herring stock in the North-East Atlantic for 2002 signed today.
The Russian Federation shall reserve, for conservation purposes, 6,800 tonnes of its quota for 2002 in its Exclusive Economic Zone in the Barents Sea.
