Came into force on 3 September 1969, the date of receipt of the last note (from the Government of the Union of Soviet Socialist Republics) by the Government of the United States of America. The period of 18 years provided for by the Agreement is to be computed from 14 October 1957, the initial entry into force date of the Interim Convention.
