This Agreement is divided into 9 articles. The Two parties consider the waters of Orontes River originate in Lebanon as a common interest (art. 1). The quantity of waters drawn from the river course near the Harmel Bridge, sources, rain waters, torrents and the extract waters from the wells in Lebanon will be considered a part of the established Lebanese share (art. 2). The annual Lebanese total share is amount of 80 million cubic metres, when the quantity of waters in Lebanon is 400 million cubic metres and upward (art. 3). When the a nnual quantity of waters is less than 400 million cubic metres, the year will be considered a rainless year, therefore the Lebanese share will be reduced of 20% (art. 4). The control of water quantity will be entrusted to the Jiont Technical Committee (art. 5).
