Entry into force upon exchange of ratification instruments.; The Parties hereby agree on a maritime boundary between the two countries constituted by "the line of geographical parallel intersecting that point at which the international terrestrial border line between Ecuador and Colombia reaches the sea" (art. 1). Parties agree to establish a zone on each side of the line beyond 12 nautical miles, in which accidental presence of fishermen of either country shall not constitute violation of the maritime boundary.
