Amendments to Article 6.01 of the Implementing Regulations under the Convention on the Collection, Deposit and Reception of Waste generated during navigation on the Rhine

On 13 December 2018, the Conference of Contracting Parties adopted Decision CDNI 2018-II-5 in accordance with Articles 14 and 19 of the Convention. The Decree contains a correction of an inconsistency in Article 6.01 of the Implementing Regulations of the Dutch text of Decree CDNI 2017-I-4 of 22 June 2017.

The Dutch text of Decree CDNI 2018-II-5 reads as follows:

Correction of an inconsistency in Article 6.01 of the Implementing Regulation in Decree CDNI 2017-I-4

Provisions on the treatment of gaseous residues of liquid cargo

The Conference of the Contracting Parties,

having regard to the Convention on the Collection, Delivery and Collection of Waste in Navigation on the Rhine and Inland Navigation (CDNI), and in particular Articles 14 and 19 thereof,

adopts the correction of Article 6.01 of the Implementing Regulation to the Convention as set out in Decision CDNI 2017-I-4.

This decision shall take effect immediately.

Article 6.01 of the CDNI Implementing Regulations as set out in CDNI Decree 2017-I-4 is corrected as follows:

1. Before paragraph 4, the new paragraph 4 is re-inserted as follows:

4. The competent national authority assesses the admissibility of the discharge or introduction of waste from the cargo of substances not listed in the List of Substances included in Appendix III of the Implementing Regulation and determines a provisional discharge standard.

The Conference of the Contracting Parties shall review this proposal and, if necessary, extend the List of Substances.”

2. The current fourth member is renumbered to fifth member.
