The Embassy of the United States of America presents its compliments to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Estonia and has the honor to refer to the agreement between the Government of the United States of America and the Government of the Republic of Estonia concerning Fisheries Off the Coasts of the United States, With Annex, signed at Washington June 1, 1992, as extended (The Agreement).
The Embassy proposes, on behalf of the Government of the United States of America, that The Agreement, which is currently scheduled to expire on June 30, 1998, be extended for an additional two-year period, until June 30, 2000. If this proposal is acceptable to the Government of the Republic of Estonia, the Embassy proposes that this note and the Government of Estonia’s favorable note in reply shall constitute an agreement between the two governments, which shall enter into force on a date to be determined in a subsequent exchange of diplomatic notes following the completion of all necessary internal procedures of both parties.
The Embassy of the United States of America avails itself of this opportunity to renew to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Estonia assurances of its highest consideration.

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Estonia present their compliments to the Embassy of the United States of America and have the honour to acknowledge the receipt of the Embassy’s Note No. 026 of March 10, 1998, regarding the proposal to extend the Agreement between the Government of the United States of America and the Government of the Republic of Estonia concerning fisheries off the coasts of the United States, With Annex, signed at Washington June 1, 1992 for an additional two-year period until June 30, 2000.
The Ministry of Foreign Affairs can hereby confirm that the proposal of the Government of the United States of America is acceptable for the Government of the Republic of Estonia and the Estonian side has completed all the necessary internal requirements for the entry into force of the Agreement.
The Ministry have the honour to assure that the Embassy’ Note No. 026 and the reply Note of the Ministry constitute an Agreement between the two Governments.
The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Estonia avail themselves of this opportunity to renew to the Embassy of the United States of America the assurances of their highest consideration.
